St Austell Brewery

St Austell Brewery was founded in 1851 by Cornishman Walter Hicks and remains an independent family owned brewery. The brewery in St Austell produces many of the region’s most popular beers for sale in pubs, bars and supermarkets in Cornwall, Devon, across the UK. You can enjoy St Austell beer in some of the finest pubs, spanning from Bristol to the Isles of Scilly and the Red Lion Cricklade is proud to be included in such prestigious company.

Bath Ales

The brewery was established in 1995 by former employees of Smiles Brewery in Bristol. Since that time, it has experienced steady growth, which included opening a new bottling plant in 2007. Bath Ales was acquired by Cornwall-based St Austell Brewery on 1 July 2016. The multi-million-pound investment in a new brewery and larger bottling and canning facilities was announced in March 2017. Bath Ales still uses an efficient steam-driven plant, where heat exchangers take the warmth naturally created through fermentation to heat the water. The finished grain is then given to local farmers as livestock feed, while the finished hops and yeast are converted into fertilisers to continue the cycle. The Red Lion Cricklade can delight its customers with a choice from; eleven brewed beers and a cider.

Hop Kettle Brewery

Based in Swindon and nearby Cricklade, the Hop Kettle Brewing Co. was founded by Tom Gee.

With over two decades of experience in hospitality, he has the insider’s understanding of the drinks industry, and the technical knowledge required to create one-of-a-kind brews. Rather than seeing beer as an established product in an established industry, Hop Kettle sees it as a drink with no end of potential and variety. Hop Kettle Brewing Co. represents a means of exploring the possibilities of brewing, using a diverse range of ingredients to create beers with unique flavour profiles.
